For example, every new iPhone comes with Face ID, the most secure facial authentication ever in a smartphone. The data used to identify you is encrypted and protected by the Secure Enclave. That’s a discrete part of the chip, so your data can’t be accessed by iOS or apps. And it isn’t stored on Apple servers or backed up to iCloud. Instead, it stays on your device, with you, where it belongs.
The same principle holds true for Apple Pay, which is even more secure than using your physical card. And Maps, which takes the data needed for navigation routing and associates it with random identifiers, so it can’t be tied to your Apple ID. The list goes on. In fact, no other smartphone does as much to protect your privacy.
