Behind the name S.USV hides a German brand, which specializes in accessories for the Raspberry Pi and other popular microcomputers. The main focus is placed on an uninterruptible power supply. The "S.USV ASUS Tinker" version offered here is an advanced power supply add-on module with integrated and adjustable charging for all ASUS Tinker boards, with the main focus on the uninterruptible power supply of the single-board computer. For example, a significantly faster battery charging time can be achieved by setting the charging current to 1A (instead of the standard 300 mA).

As a fully functional plug & play solution, the S.USV ASUS Tinker is powered directly from the 40 pin GPIO connector on the Tinker board, sharing a common power source. As a result, no additional cabling or power supplies are necessary. To safely shut down the Tinker board in case of misconduct and prevent data loss, the module is equipped with a long-life LiPo battery, which covers the necessary voltage range via a boost switching power converter

For example, if the power of the mini-computer falls below an adjustable voltage threshold, the S.USV ASUS Tinker will automatically switch to battery power, keeping the functionality of the Tinker board constant for a user-settable period, thereby bypassing the power failure or driving the single-board computer safely shut down in the event of a long-term power failure.

The uninterruptible power supply of the Tinker Board is guaranteed by a fully integrated monitoring system with a wide range of operating options. All possible operating states of the Tinker board are monitored internally, so that the module is always able to react accordingly to misconduct.

This UPS variant also provides a mains input for the extended voltage range of 7-24 volts. All operating states or switching operations can be checked and controlled via a software including smartphone app or tablet.
